The Importance of Online Recovery Resources with Social Distancing

Online Recovery Resources

With many businesses closed and restrictions set on how many people can gather together during this time of social distancing, people need to know where to go for recovery support. Are there online recovery resources? What about over the phone? Staying active in the recovery community is vital, especially in early recovery.

The great news is that there are many online recovery resources and many companies are using phone and Skype or Zoom to stay in touch with patients and counseling sessions.

What meetings can people attend online?

Through a very helpful website In the Rooms, once you register at no charge with an email address, you can choose from:

  1. Narcotics Anonymous
  2. Alcoholics Anonymous
  3. Dual Diagnosis
  4. Recovery Dharma
  5. CMA (Crystal Meth)
  6. Wellbriety (Native Americans)
  7. Codependency Grief and Relationships

12step.org also offers a list of meetings available through chat, text, video or phone.

There is an endless variety of meetings to support any situation or need.

Another resource that is more for emotional support is Emotions Anonymous. They offer meetings via chat, Skype or phone and can help provide the coping skills and support when you need someone to listen.
